Forest Hill and back

Another great training walk today. Total distance about 14 miles, starting from home, near the JR we went over the A40 to Barton, across to Sandhills.

Crossing the A40 by the underpass near the Park and Ride we followed the path next to Nielsens up to Shotover Country Park.

Through Shotover and pass Shotover House, we went through Wheatley and Holton and up to Forest Hill.

 

Had a fantastic lunch at the While Horse in Forest Hill. A Thai meal and a proper pint of bitter (OK 2) for £10 a head. Superb value for money, a great pub with fantastic food and wonderful service. Thanks to L for recommending it to us and well done to her and Rob for the Stile. Honoured to be the first person to use a new stile.

 

From Forest Hill on and up to Stanton St John and Beckley. Before heading back via Elsfield.
